摘要

Japan's Natural Resources and Energy Agency (NREA) has proposed that the government nominate potential sites that are considered suitable for locating a high-level radioactive waste disposal facility and present the sites to the public, rather than waiting for local governments to offer to host the project. The approach was offered during a meeting of a panel which is reviewing Japan's stalled efforts to find an underground repository site for waste created by nuclear power plants.
