Wyoming Measure on Radioactive Waste Storage Cleared on Committee Vote

A Wyoming bill to permit construction of temporary, high-level radioactive waste storage facilities in the state has been cleared on a committee vote. Senate File 0026 was approved by the Senate Minerals, Business and Economic Development Committee Jan. 11. The storage facilities would be allowed only if they stored waste produced by a nuclear power generation facility operating within the state.
