Making a PACT in developing countries

Our special section in this issue was originally intended to be on nuclear medicine—defined as "a branch of medicine specializing in the use of radionuclides for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes." But when Dick Kovan, our International Editor, said that he had obtained some information about the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) Program of Action for Cancer Therapy (PACT) and that he could put together a feature on it, it seemed logical to expand the scope of the section to encompass radiation therapy, as well.
