THE NRC WILL 'CONSIDER' TWO RULEMAKING PETITIONS

The nrc will "consider" two rulemaking petitions. In the April 13 Federal Register, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission announced that a petition submitted in 2002 by private citizen Bob Christie, along with a public comment in support of the petition, will be considered in the agency's rulemaking process. The petitioner requests that the NRC amend its regulations in 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix A, to eliminate the requirement for assuming a loss of off-site power coincident with postulated accidents.
