China Guangdong buys U from Areva; other deals

On November 4, China Guangdong Nu-clear Power Corporation signed a 10-year contract with Areva under which the latter will supply 20 000 tons of uranium. The contract, valued at about $3.5 billion, was signed during a state visit to Paris by Chi-nese President Hu Jintao. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission re-cently signed contracts with two service providers. CGI Federal Inc. has received an eight-year deal, valued at up to $20 mil-lion, to support the migration and modern-ization of the NRC's ADAMS document retrieval system. Attenuation Environ-mental Company will receive $5 974 592 for technical assistance in the development of environmental documents for the licens-ing and decommissioning of uranium re-covery and other fuel cycle facilities.
