DOE laboratories win 39 of the 'R&D 100' awards

As it does every July, R&D Magazine has announced what its editors consider to be the 100 most outstanding technology developments introduced into the marketplace over the past year. Eighty-eight of the 100 originated in the United States, 39 of them at U.S. Department of Energy laboratories. Many of these developments arose in fields related to the science and technology of the atomic nucleus, and three are fairly directly involved with them. They are the following:
