In case it hasn't already been called to your attention, there is an incorrect sentence in your letter to the editor in the August 2011 issue of Nuclear News. Given your listed experience, I assume that it must be an editing error. The sentence in question is: "Five years later, the first nuclear-powered submarine, the USS Triton, sailed around the world continuously submerged." Even I, who am not an expert on the nuclear Navy, know that the USS Nautilus was the first nuclear-powered submarine (in this country, at least).
