Joint venture with Alstom receives first turbine order

Alstom-Atomenergomash (AAEM), a French-Russian joint venture, is to supply the turbine islands for the two reactors at the Baltic nuclear power plant, which is being built in the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad. The contract, the first won by AAEM since it was formed five years ago, includes the supply of Alstom's Arabelle steam turbines, generators, condensers, moisture separator reheaters, and auxiliary equipment. The total value of the contract exceeds 35 billion rubles (about $1.16 billion). More than half of the equipment will be manufactured in Russia.
