Two bids submitted for Fennovoima project

Fennovoima has received bids for its planned nuclear project at Pyhajoki, in northern Finland, from the two selected vendor candidates, Areva and Toshiba. The technical bids were received in early January and the so-called commercial bids at the end of the month. The winning plant supplier will be selected later this year or in 2013. The reactor, which will be sited on the Hanhikivi peninsula and will be referred to as Hanhikivi-1, is to start electricity production in 2020 at the earliest.
