The National Nuclear Security Administration in March released a report on its efforts to prevent nuclear proliferation and terrorism. Titled Prevent, Counter, and Respond-A Strategic Plan to Reduce Global Nuclear Threats (FY 2016-PY 2020), the report is intended as a comprehensive overview, for the first time in a single place, of the NNSA's integrated strategy for dealing with nuclear weapons proliferation and nuclear and radiological terrorism threats. The product of a recommendation by Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz and NNSA Administrator Frank G. Klotz, the 124-page report serves as a companion document to the agency's Stockpile Stewardship and Management Plan, released earlier in the month.
