NNSA to negotiate cooperative agreements for Mo-99 production

The National Nuclear Security Administration has completed its evaluation of the applications submitted in response to a funding opportunity announcement for the production of molybdenum-99 without the use of high-enriched uranium, the Department of Energy announced on February 20. Based on the evaluations and recommendations of an independent technical review panel, the NNSA has selected four U.S. companies to begin negotiations for potential new cooperative agreement awards of up to $15 million each.
