With news moving so quickly regarding COVID-19 and its effects on our lives, I'm hard pressed to write an editorial that will still be timely when it's read. In Illinois, where the Nuclear News offices are located, our staff is telecommuting, while restaurants are closed to dine-in meals, store shelves are empty of bread and toilet paper, sporting events have been canceled, and social distancing is the newest buzz phrase. While I was walking my dog this morning, a semi-truck and trailer came slowly rumbling by, and I gave the driver a thumbs up because it just seemed the right thing to do. While some of us are able to work from home during this period, there are others who need to be out there to keep our society going, including truck drivers, hospital staff, mail carriers, police and fire personnel, food store clerks, and the workers who keep our lights on and our phones charged up.
