Ontario's Nuclear Fleet to Play Key Role in Province's Energy Plan

The latest provincial Long-Term Energy Plan (LTEP) confirms the pivotal role that nuclear energy will play in the clean energy future for the Canadian province of Ontario. The 2017 LTEP, released this week after a year of public consultation and government review, recognizes the environmental and economic benefits of nuclear power and remains committed to refurbishing all of Ontario's publicly owned reactors and to the four-year operating extension of the Pickering Nuclear Station. It also reiterates the importance of Bruce Power's Life-Extension Program, which will see the Bruce Nuclear Station's eight reactors operating through 2064.
