Embalse's lifeline

Nucleoelectrica Argentina, the Argentinian utility owner and operator of the Embalse Candu nuclear plant, is refurbishing and extending the design service life of Embalse, in Cordoba, up to 2035, providing a plant lifetime extension (Plex) equal to 25 years. Embalse lifetime extension pre-project work started in 2006 and is being carried out by AECL and Ansaldo Nucleare for the reactor building and non-nuclear systems, respectively.
