Big data, big opportunity

摘要

Last year the World Institute for Nuclear Security (WINS) looked into integrated data management systems and how they are being used to support nuclear security, materials control and accountancy, and tracking of nuclear transport operations. This research culminated in December 2014 with a two-day roundtable in Vienna that brought together academics, vendors and experts from different sectors. The aim was to provide an insight into the current applications of integrated data management in public and private sectors, as well as the potential benefits and obstacles to its use for enhancing security in the nuclear industry.
