When we look back on 2013, it will go down as a crucial year for the British nuclear sector. From the publication of the Government's Nuclear Industry Strategy to the agreement of a strike price at Hinkley Point greenlighting the first UK new build of the 21st century, there has seldom been a more concentrated focus on the opportunities available in the decades to come. What better time, then, for the Nuclear Institute to celebrate holding its first successful Congress? Complicated as the detail may have been, the overall plan was simple. Find a good venue, source some of the top names in industry and academia to speak, and invite our members to come and hear them. Add to the attractions a supplier exhibition, panel discussions, poster sessions and a Gala Dinner hosted by the BBC's Steph McGovern, and you have the ingredients for a remarkable event.
