The year's only UK seminar on Advanced Nuclear Technologies was held near Chester on 14 November, which followed on from February's SMR event and completed a strong 2018 national events programme. The NI works to align its annual programme with the industry's challenges and opportunities, facilitate professional development, nurture scientific expertise, share knowledge and provide a place for people working within a nuclear, low-carbon energy environment to network and interact. Hosted by micro-modular reactor developer U-Battery and nuclear fuels company Urenco at their impressive new venue Capenhurst Court, the event was fully booked with more than 80 people attending and actively contributing to discussions. Delegates had the option to take part in a site tour of the Capenhurst site and conversations buzzed in the networking display area where event sponsors Urenco/U-Battery, Assystem, and Westinghouse joined the Nuclear Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre and Welsh Government stands.
