摘要

The influence of initial transverse thermal velocities of electrons on the perturbation of intense highly converging electron beams is investigated. It is shown that the perturbations can be minimized an the ultimate compression of the electron beam can be attained using an optimum magnetic flux introduced at the cathode. Experimental verification of the theoretical analysis is performed.
