The specific attenuation coefficient of the hybrid ME_(11) mode in a modified circular waveguide is calculated using a method developed earlier. Calculations are performed in a wide frequency range for a number of waveguide diameters. Combinations of the parameters of modified waveguides providing a substantial decrease in the specific attenuation as compared to that in an empty waveguide are determined.
