The Microkernel Next Generation Project (MKng) was started in 1996 at Keio University SFC Labora- tory, in collaboration with ten companies and three universities. Based on distributed real-time microkernel technology and multimedia extension functions mainly developed in our previous research project, we cre- ated next-generation microkernel technology, which can be applied to real-time, parallel and distributed, multi-computer, embedded, high-speed network, and mobile systems.
