摘要

In this paper, the effects of the polymeric additives, i.e., cationic polyacrylamide (CPAM), cationic starch (CS) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) typically used in papermaking process line, was investigated and the evidences revealed that the accumulation of CPAM was the major cause for macrostickies runnability barrier in a newspaper production line. The simulation experiment was conducted for clarifying the adsorption behavior of CPAM on the pulp fibers under the normal process conditions. In the comparison study, the CS and PVA were also used as reference polymers. The microscopy morphological analysis indicated that CPAM in the production line would be more easy to form the stickes with larger sizes and result in macrostickies deposits. In addition, the testing results showed that the different kind polymers with mineral particles associated different adsorption and flocculation behaviors.
