摘要

Rigid-plastic finite element analysis is widely used to simulate the rolling process because the more desirable elastic-plastic analysis has been thought to require much longer computational time and to not be practical. Recently, the DEM (dynamic explicit method) has been successful in solving sheet metal forming problems that include the elastic-plastic behavior of the material. In this report, we applied DEM to a two dimensional elastic-plastic flat rolling analysis. DEM provided an accurate rolling analysis in a reasonable computational time.
