Modelling the Stars of the Sagrada Familia

In the Nativity facade of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, a few three-dimensional star shapes appear. Although it is widely accepted that Gaudi hardly ever used polyhedra in his works, the analysis of the shape of these stars reveals that, under an organic appearance, there is a hidden morphology that can be explained by using theoretical models of star polyhedra. In this paper will be discussed some of the possible theoretical models suggested, to point out their place on the facade and what their meaning is, focusing on the geometrical and astronomical meaning of some of them.
