This is going to be a big year in the memoirs of Jody Williams, the 47-year-old Vermonter who is coordinator of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines. In December, 90 countries will gather in Ottawa to sign a treaty to do just that. And last Friday, word came down from Oslo that Williams and her organization were going to split a million bucks, courtesy of the estate of Alfred Nobel. The ICBL and Williams, a world-class organizer but hardly a household name, are this year's Peace Prize winners.
