Italy's prime minister is a magnet for scandal. There was the allegation by Silvio Berlusconi's estranjed wife that he flirted with underage girls, the call girl who said he offered her a European Parliament seat: in exchange for sex, and the steamy paparazzi photos taken at his villa in Sardinia. Then, last week, the media mogul turned politician got hit with a pair of devastating court rulings. One declared him partially responsible in a corporate-corruption case and ordered his holding company to pay $1.1 billion in damages. The other ruling, by the Constitutional Court, threw out a law that gave the prime minister immunity from criminal prosecution, thus exposing him to further corruption trials and investigations.
