Thank you for your excellent cover story on President Abraham Lincoln and his struggle to end slavery. I was at an event recently where a young African-American woman sang a spiritual that had everyone in tears. It was clearly written some 200 years ago and skillfully conveyed the author's desperation about the plight of his or her people. Your past issue-especially your story about Abraham Lincoln-was captivating. I could not put it down.
