The application of microsystems and the development of new microcomponents are up to now often limited by the lack of suitable materials. Ceramics are capable of opening up new fields of application. As the conventionally used methods for micropatterning are in most cases not transferable to ceramics, special techniques were developed. The selection of a convenient shaping process for a particular product depends on the size, shape and the necessary number of pieces.
