Technische Maßnahmen zur Minderung von Verbrennungsaerosolen

The emission of aerosols by the incineration of wastes or biomass may be reduced by optimization of incineration conditions and by cost effective flue gas cleaning processes. The formation mechanisms of combustion aerosols are discussed and compared to aerosol measurements at a municipal waste incinerator. At the AEOLA pilot plant the gas/particle distribution of dioxins in the presence of submicron fly ash particles is measured as function of temperature. At high relative humidities the diameter of submicron fly ash particles is increased. The wet particles are removed with high efficiency by an agglomerator system, which can be easily integrated in flue gas scrubbers.
