摘要

Graham Stewart's latest book (he has written something like 17 before this one), describes the trams and trains that crossed each other, ran alongside each other, or ran on shared tracks. This attractive soft-covered book contains 84 pages of information, interesting photographs and text. Seasoned readers of tramway books will no doubt find images that they've seen before, but combining a host of photographs linked together by a common topic makes for a very worthwhile project. True, there are some'slip-ups'that should have been picked up by a proof-reader, and extra editorial work would have simplified some sentences which are lengthy and take time to decipher. Some street maps, in addition to a small number of diagrams included in the book, would have been helpful. On the positive side there is a full index, always necessary in a work of this nature.
