Study: Control Standards Will Spur Robotics

The North American robotics industry has experienced huge growth in the past five years, but how rich a future the industry has will depend on how manufacturers respond to changing customer needs as well as on market demand. The ability of the industry to grow, both within its core business sectors as well as to serve niche markets, will hinge partly on the deployment of standard control interfaces. A key aim is to make it easier to configure standardized robot systems for specialized tasks in markets that are under served by robots today.
