Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. has developed a portable DVD player DVD-P40 that is the world's smallest and lightest player. This is a type mounting no liquid crystal monitor, features a compact size with a width of 159mm, depth of 140mm, thickness of 16.2mm, and weighs about 258g. It can also be connected with the sunglass type display Eye Trek made by Olympus Optical Co., Ltd. to permit images to be observed on a extra-wide screen with an apparent size of about 62 inches. By directly linking Eye Trek with Olympus Optical DVD-P40 player by using a special-purpose linkage cable ET-MC 02M (separately sold), it will become possible for the user to enjoy video/audio signals, also to power the player from an external connector, which makes the use of an Eye Trek AC adapter unnecessary to enable interlinkages to be established easily and conveniently.
