Ofcom talks tough on switchover fines

Ofcom has pointedly reminded the UK's main terrestrial broadcasters that they face swingeing fines if they fail to adhere to obligations on digital switchover. The veiled warning came in a consultation document released last week in which the television and communications regulator outlined proposals to charge broadcasters for using television and radio spectrum from 2014 onwards.
