Manufacturers and standards organisations are set to introduce new compliance tests for reception equipment in the wake of technical problems encountered by BSkyB's high-definition television service. There is substantial industry concern about the fact that consumers are buying television sets tagged "HD Ready" only to find that they does not work with BSkyB's high-definition set-top boxes.
