TVonics, the manufacturer that provided set-top boxes for the digital switchover help scheme in Whitehaven, has been bought out of administration. Contact Holdings, a supply chain management and packaging company, acquired the company last month after administrators Milner Boardman were called in when it was decided that TVonics could not continue in its current form. TVonics had been in administration for a week when it was bought by Contact Holdings and agreements have been reached with major creditors. The price paid has not been disclosed. Paul Fellows, chief executive of TVonics, said that the new owners were investing in the business and that the company wanted to take its experience in the UK digital-terrestrial television market into other major European countries.
