Toray, China BlueStar form water treatment joint venture

Toray Industries Inc of Japan and China National BlueStar (Group) Co Ltd of China have established a joint venture, Toray BlueStar Membrane Co Ltd, in Beijing.rnThe new company has a capital of $35 million and 180 workers, and will engage in the production, sales, and import and export of water treatment membrane products. TBMC is planning to invest approximately CNY500 million in the construction of facilities for the production of a reverse osmosis membrane and assembly of membrane elements. Operations of the facilities are expected to commence in April 2010 in a phased manner.
