Formal monitoring of compulsory continuing professional development (CPD) starts this month, and the ICE is keen to explain how this will affect - and benefit - the membership. CPD is the ICE's method of ensuring that members uphold the requirements of the institution's Royal Charter to ensure those who practice civil engineering are "appropriately qualified to do so". Formal monitoring of CPD will begin this spring, with the ICE set to ask a randomly selected sample of 10% of the membership to submit their development plans.
