摘要

Sweden has just celebrated the completion of one of its most ambitious infrastructure projects. The new 6km-long tunnelled City line, dubbed the Crossrail of Stockholm, runs between Tomteboda in the north and Stockholm South, doubling track capacity through the city centre. Until now, all rail traffic, including commuter, long distance, regional and freight trains, has run on two ageing overground tracks, creating bottlenecks and delays. Now the new line is open, all commuter trains will go through the tunnels, relieving pressure on the existing line.
