State of the Nation 2021 report will focus on enabling public and private sector clients and suppliers to make low carbon choices

The ICE's State of the Nation 2021 report will explore how civil engineers can help reduce harmful emissions in the built environment by enabling people to make low carbon choices. In the run-up to its October publication, the State of the Nation Steering Group, led by ICE President Rachel Skinner, will explore successful civil engineering solutions that enable low carbon choices. It will also explore effective tools and practical examples that can persuade end users to reduce carbon emissions and reach net zero. This will build on insights and evidence produced through The Carbon Project and the Infrastructure Carbon Review. By exploring options to influence behaviour to reach net zero, the ICE wants to shape the thinking of key industry stakeholders and decision makers responsible for setting future low carbon strategies. These include public and private sector clients and supply chains. Regional workshops aimed at gathering evidence and the views of ICE members have already begun across the UK.
