Past president honoured by United States engineers

The United States National Academy of Engineering has elected ICE past President Lord Mair as a Foreign Member for "contributions to underground construction and smart infrastructure and for leadership in government, engineering practice, research, and education". He was one of 18 foreign members to be appointed this year. Others included Sir James Dyson, founder of Dyson Technology. The new members will be inducted on 6 October during the Academy's Annual Meeting in Washington, DC.
