摘要

There is a growing demand for efficient visualization in scientific computing. In order to cope with it, NEC has been developing RVSLIB, an application system aiming at efficient visualization for large-scale scientific computing. Its main features are tracking and steering of numerical simulations as well as the unique way of visualization that creates image data on high-performance computing servers such as the NEC SX-5 Series. Such a real-time visualization technique was found to be effective in reducing the required memory/disk capacity as well as the network band width, thus it is contributing to the realization of efficient research and engineering processes involving computational fluid dynamics and structural analysis. This paper describes RVSLIB with respect to its features, applications, and an attempted visualization method capitalizing on the emerging Internet and Web-enabling technologies.
