The Pount, designed after low reliefs showing a sailing boat from the 2nd millennium B.C., the history of which is given here, actually made a voyage along the African coasts, clockwise, with ten people on board, in 1988-1990. This trip was the subject of a paper published in NAVIGATION n° 164 - October 1993. Since then, the ship, considered by some people as a remarkable achievement, by others as a wreck doomed to death, encountered many mishaps, and finally disappeared in 2009.%Le Pount, reconstitution d'un navire à voiles utilisé au 2e millénaire avant J.-C., dont on rappelle ici l'historique, a effectivement fait le tour de l'Afrique, dans le sens des aiguilles d'une montre, avec une dizaine de personnes à bord, entre 1988 et 1990. Cette expédition a été relatée dans la revue NAVIGATION n° 164 - octobre 1993. Depuis, ce bateau, considéré par certains comme une réalisation remarquable, par d'autres, comme une épave vouée à dispara?tre, a connu bien des vicissitudes, pour finir en 2009.
