The ASNE Northern New England Section was welcomed to the U. S. Coast Guard's Sector Northern New England base in South Portland, Maine, on October 24 for the Section's monthly dinner meeting. Activities for the 32 attendees included a tour of the Industrial Production Facility (IPF), which provides maintenance support to the Coast Guard's 47-foot motor lifeboats, dinner at the USCG's Rusty Scupper, and presentations on the missions of the Northern New England Sector by host and Sector Commander CAPT Brian Gilda, USCG, and an overview of the IPF's organic maintenance capabilities by Industrial Manager LT Jeff Verville, USCG. Attendees included members from SNAME and student members from Maine Maritime Academy (MMA).
