Only a few short years ago ASNE was led by an inspirational woman, Ms. Kathleen Hinton, who served as the first female president of the American Society of Naval Engineers from 2009-2011. For her outstanding contributions to the Society, even before she became president, Kathleen received the Frank G. Law Award for her distinguished service through the advancement of the Society. She made long-term contributions to both the national headquarters and Tidewater Section through her sustained personal commitment to the ideals of ASNE, and improved the engagement and mission of ASNE. Kathleen enhanced the Society's operational impact and advanced the Society's professional stature through her leadership, selfless dedication and personal individual efforts. Kathleen has demonstrated superb leadership skills, exceptional professional abilities, innovative thought and unwavering implementation of creative, highly successful programs. Kathleen has been a long-term dedicated and distinguished member who has contributed substantially to numerous aspects of the Society's operations.
