British Battleships 1919-1945, New Revised Edition

R.A. Burt's three volumes covering the history of British battleship development from the trend-setting Royal Sovereign class of the 1880s to the King George V class of World War II together formed one of the most significant naval technology publishing events of the late 1980s and early 1990s. With the arrival of new editions of the last two volumes, I decided to take the opportunity to include the original first book in my review, since I could not locate a contemporary NRJ review for it. It is to be hoped that the publishers also will issue a new edition of the first volume soon, especially as used copies currently are very expensive.
