As research gradually unravels this complexity, many aspects of the human condition must be understood to reduce individual risk, to intervene in the initiation and development of cancerous processes, and to reverse them. Vast resources are necessary for success, and the implications of scientific research must extend to aspects of human lifestyles, including diet. Scientists, clinicians and public-health officials agree that successful approaches to solving the mysteries of cancer will take diet into account.
