The National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), with a network of research centres across Japan, promotes the creation of innovative ideas for society through 'full research' - a multidisciplinary approach to research from basic studies through to product realization. AIST Kansai is no exception.rnThe AIST institute is Japan's largest public research organization, employing about 3,000 researchers at nine locations throughout the country and hosting almost 5,000 visiting scientists from universities and industry in Japan and overseas.
