KAMPO On the frontline of Kampo medicine research

摘要

Kampo is a traditional style of medicine practiced in Japan that is based on the study and adaptation of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) developed using a uniquely Japanese approach influenced by Japanese history, tradition, culture and science. The term Kampo is a transliteration of the two kanji characters that make up name of the discipline: Kam which refers to the ancient Chinese Han dynasty (200BC-220AD) during which time the practice of TCM was first formalised, and Po which means 'way of treatment'.
