Safety acumen took centre stage at this year's NSCA/GIO Workers Compensation National Safety Awards of Excellence. The 21st annual awards, held in Sydney in October, brought together inspirational safety professionals and enthusiasts from around Australia. The award winners and finalists demonstrated high-level leadership and creative nous in helping to integrate safety with other parts of their organisations-regardless of their job titles. Reflecting far-reaching safety excellence, a diverse range of industries filled the winners circle, including design and construction, equipment design, processing, animal welfare, rail transport, motor service, water and hydropower.
