WAKE UP TO SERIOUS INJURY AND FATALITY

Australian companies are becoming more sophisticated at limiting accidents that injure workers. Despite advances, serious injuries and fatalities (SIF) continue to happen with alarming frequency. DEKRA's Insight's study findings and work with over 5500 organisations show that the causes of SIF events are distinctly different than those of less severe injuries. The data tells us that potential for serious injury is actually low for about 80% of non-SIF injuries. Another eye-opening statistic is that 71% of fatal incidents result from either a breakdown in lifesaving rule processes or a breakdown in pre-task risk assessment.
