The New Jersey National Guard is fitting two facilities with new solar-power panels that will cut the state's energy costs.rnThe New York District of the Army Corps of Engineers is constructing open-panel photovoltaic carport solar-power projects at the Guard's Joint Forces Headquarters at Fort Dix, N.J., and at the National Training FacilityrnHeadquarters at Sea Girt, N.J.rnThe panels will be erected over two existing parking lots at both locations. The energy generated will power the two headquarters buildings, which are less then 200 feet away from the parking lots.
